Lushica, flower flower / No. 25 “Lushica, flower flower”

"Lucica, Flower Flower"

This is the title of the illustration I drew as the key visual for A.O.V25.

I subtly drew inspiration for this name from a sound reminiscent of the flowers in a certain painting.

Flowers blend into our daily lives as a matter of course,

attracting people's hearts in various ways.

I'm not particularly knowledgeable about flowers, nor do I grow them,

and I don't have a special fondness for floral patterns.

Yet, if asked "Do you like flowers?", I would nod without hesitation,

and sometimes I naturally choose them as a motif in my expressions.

If I were to point out one thing I like about them, it would be

their ambiguity, as if there is an answer, yet there isn't.

Even though drawing them straight would make them beautiful as they are,

their organic freedom makes them feel more fitting when slightly distorted.

The wildness of petals in particular

is that each shape blooms capriciously,

yet without falling apart, they form a single beauty.

With so much freedom, it feels as if anything is permissible,

making me want to slip past convention and make new flowers bloom on paper.

Even as they wither, flowers become a painting,

as if they are still breathing there.

They continue to maintain their form of beauty even after letting go of life.

There's something irresistibly attractive about that.

To their beauty, which doesn't crumble no matter how freely interpreted,

I sometimes superimpose my own feelings.
