When I think of "beautiful white flowers,"
the first images that come to mind are majestic blooms like white lilies.
Among them, my personal favorite has always been gypsophila, or baby's breath.
Its name is widely known,
and you see it commonly in flower shops and bouquets.
But—
when I really thought about it, I realized I had never seen it growing wild.
Suddenly curious about why, I looked up information about baby's breath.
Apparently, baby's breath is
a "commercial flower" mass-produced in fields.
It's a flower meant to bloom in "places prepared for someone," like florists or weddings,
and it's rarely found quietly blooming in nature.
Perhaps the more commonplace something seems in our daily lives,
the more we actually don't know about it.
Things I always questioned,
things I couldn't make sense of,
and people or events I thought I disliked—
if I just took a small step to confront them,
a completely different perspective might emerge.
And perhaps the more something glamorous seems to be "just there,"
the more it's actually balanced on the edge of fragility.
